How to get great Graduation Photography

As the semester starts to wind down a lot of people are thinking about graduation and which kind of photography style they want to use to capture the final moments of their college career. As a photographer, your style is important because people choose to work with you because of your style – they don’t necessarily care about anything else (besides price).

Outside of style, one of the best ways to get awesome graduation photography is to capture the graduate’s personality. Get them talking about what they did in college, their hobbies, passions, favorite tv shows, what ever you can connect on. Also, make the shoot super fun so they will loosen up and show their true self. Lastly, if you’re in a studio, play music because as I learned from Sarah Silver at the Adobe MAX Creative Conference, “a quiet studio is a sad studio.” You can also see more graduation photography inspiration at Sweet London Family Photography.
